My bucket list..

Part of my bucket list involved creating a Yelp account and posting a review...and so I did.

I'll be nice and not name the restaurant.  Here it goes.....

I'm writing this review with Hurricane Irene in mind.  If any flooding takes place, I would like everyone to know that this restaurant will not go out of business because of the hurricane, but because of how it's run.

We came here to use the Groupon for 2 burgers, 2 fries, and 2 milkshakes.  Ok...so we are told that this only applies to the very basic burgers...which is a disappointment because of their large selection.  But we can live.  Then we are told that tomatoes and lettuce will cost extra...Are you kidding me?  Then we want to substitute a milkshake for a soda...no can do...that will cost extra.  I felt like we were nickled and dimed on everything, and thought this might be specific to the fact that we brought a Groupon.

However, a woman, sans Groupon, sat down next to us and ordered food and was also treated the same way.  "That will cost extra...this will cost extra."  She asked for more napkins, and I joked with her that I was surprised that those didn't cost extra.  She agreed.

The 2 stars is for the fact that the food was actually tasty.  However, I was completely turned off by the way we were treated as customers, and at the end, the Groupon definitely wasn't worth it.  I just don't like going to a place that nickles and dimes you for everything...granted I came in with a Groupon...so maybe it's karma.

A note to the manager(s)...if you agree to do a Groupon, it implies that you are looking for new customers.  I.e. it's a form of advertising.  It doesn't bode well for someone to come to your place and you start telling them that "Burger" on the Groupon only implies meat and bread, not any standard burger fixings.

Not so sure I'll be coming back.
